
At the Road Traffic Accident Trauma Charitable Trust trading as the National Road Trauma Centre, we take pride in our status as a registered Charitable Trust in New Zealand.
We were proudly founded in New Zealand and the first Charitable Trust of its kind.
Charities Services is a New Zealand Government Agency and let us know what we can do. Below are the activities that Charities Services has permitted us to do as a Trust:
a) to provide information to persons affected by any road traffic accident associated trauma;
b) to provide information to any person affected by a road traffic accident related injury about the substantial risk of roading physical injuries or causes including serious and prolonged disfigurement, prolonged impairment of health, or prolonged loss or impairment;
c) to educate the general public about road traffic accident associated trauma and road traffic accident associated physical injuries;
d) to advocate for, and work with communities and industry professionals to promote a road system increasingly free of death and serious injury;
e) to advocate for, and work with communities to promote and develop flexible and innovative models of road traffic accident related health care that reflect local community need and circumstances;
f) to promote the development of research and teaching which advances knowledge and informs change in road traffic related accidents, injuries and a road system increasingly free of death and serious injury;
g) to promote the recognition of the same among health and industry professionals;
h) to provide clinical care and rehabilitation to persons affected by the same;
i) to operate to a referral service for any persons affected by the same; and
j) to do any other things which the Trustees consider necessary or desirable to further the charitable purposes of the Trust;
k) Do anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes.
