DAN PALLISTER-COWARD

Dan Pallister-Coward has joined the Trust with extensive governance and executive leadership experience. Dan is currently the CEO of the Salisbury Street Foundation.

Prior to this 11 years in Executive Leadership at Canterbury District Health Board and Te Whatu Ora. This includes Regional Director Te Waipounamu (South Island), National Chief Operating Officer, Office of Chief executive (Cost Reduction Programme), General Manager, Rehabilitation, Spinal and Older Persons Health at Canterbury District Health Board and Chair of the National Chief Operating Officer Group.

Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with in Emergency Management having served 17 years with Fire and Emergency New Zealand. During his tenure his roles included Director Strategic Recovery, Assistant National Commander, Area Commander, Chief Fire Officer and Manager Operational Quality and Resources.

Dan brings a significant wealth of experience and expertise within the sector and has strong governance expertise. Dan is an insightful change leader who blends visionary thinking with the ability to transition strategic and tactical planning. Dan has a proven ability to bridge the gaps between internal and external stakeholder groups and mediate the tension of passion and reason ensuring directors are aware of the risks and strategies they are presented with.

SARAH DEAN

Sarah Dean is the Founder of the Road Traffic Accident Trauma Charitable Trust trading as the National Road Trauma Centre (‘Trust’).

Sarah Founded the Trust based on her own personal experiences in being involved in motor vehicle crashes in her 20’s. Sarah understands the widespread impacts road crashes and the on-going repercussions they pose. Sarah is a strong advocate for road trauma prevention (injury prevention and harm) and the need to reduce road risks in as many ways as we can.

Sarah believes in good governance and volunteers her time in the community to support other charitable and non-for profit organisations.

Sarah has a diverse background in both the commercial, local and central government sectors in New Zealand and Australia. In the infancy of her career Sarah worked in the economic development unit of the Canterbury Development Corporation.

Her commercial background ranges from insurance brokering to private enterprise. Some of her more recent accomplishments in Sydney, Australia include part ownership specialised physiotherapy clinics treating numerous patients ranging from Olympian athletes to those that suffer from chronic pain, many of which had been in motor vehicle crashes. Sarah has qualifications in GMP in the veterinary medicine and agricultural sector. In this sector she has worked in Regulatory Affairs in which her role including overseeing trademark litigation, compliance auditing, pharmaceutical product registration and intellectual property in numerous countries including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Myanmar and Australia.

Sarah is pleased to continue to support the Trust. She credits the many wonderful stakeholders and industry professionals who have supported her. She has felt very privileged to have engage with and serve those deeply impacted in the community.
